Originally from Gahanna, Ohio, I have lived in Atlanta, Georgia and Palm Beach, Florida. Before I was in education I was a Corporate Trainer and a Speaker. I trained Police Departments in “human diversity,” “recognizing and preventing hate crimes” and “community policing.” In addition I worked with companies on “increasing productivity,” “conflict resolution” and many other professional development topics. When I got pregnant with my son Ryan 15 years ago I knew I had to stop traveling and decided to teach.
Teaching made my heart sing and especially working with struggling learners. I truly believe all students are divinely gifted in some area and educators provide tools to nurture and bring out the genius within. I am committed to life long learning and spend most of my free time reading books on education and researching educational strategies. Although I see myself first as a Teacher being an Administrator has been an enriching experience. I enjoy working with teachers to help them reach their goals.
I recently was able to blend my training experience and teaching experience together to do a professional development presentation for Batelle for Kids called “How to get Powerful Participation from Struggling Students.” I am looking forward to bringing my love for education and desire to help all students achieve to Par excellence Academy and create a stimulating, challenging and exciting learning environment!
