My name is Sara Arends and this is my 7^th year of teaching. I’ve been with Par Excellence Academy from the beginning. I earned my teaching degree from Ohio Dominican University. I am a Newark native and I have lived here my whole life. I’m married to my husband Justin Arends and we have two dogs. In August we welcomed a new member to our family. A little baby boy named Alexander. 

This is my third year teaching Title I reading. I believe that all children can learn to read. As the Title I Reading teacher, I am committed to assist students in developing effective reading and comprehension strategies to help them become confident, independent readers.
